My life is a journey - a long, beautiful, hard journey.<br />
<br />
My life is a quest - for something.<br />
<br />
My life is one big mixture of mess and love and pain and joy.<br />
<br />
As a child I never would have been able to predict the way I would be, as I am now, at adulthood.<br />
<br />
As a child I would never had believed that I would believe or do the things I do now. I would never have been able to realize how much I would grow in my life.<br />
<br />
When I was 18 I began my quest in ernest. That quest was for something God had made. It was for something that only I could find.<br />
<br />
The quest was for me. To find myself. To find the person God wanted me to be.<br />
<a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/488851734522525289/" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">http://pinterest.com/pin/488851734522525289/</span></a><br />
<br />
The quest was to find out where He wanted me and what He wanted me to believe about the world, about Him, and about myself.<br />
<br />
The quest was to find out what it meant to be an adult. To be independent. To live in the glorious freedom of being able to do exactly what I wanted to do.<br />
<br />
The quest was to learn how to make decisions. To learn how to make mistakes, and get back up after a failure and keep going with a smile on my face.<br />
<br />
During this quest God put me through fire, and pain, and lessons, and changed my opinions and views on life.<br />
<br />
The quest lead me to embrace love and freedom. It lead me to embrace equality and independence. It lead me to embrace friends who I never would have dreamed about making but God knew I need them to learn from, and grow, and love and laugh. It lead me to want to love unconditionally.<br />
<br />
The quest doesn't end. There will never be a point in my life where I can say "I have learned it all. I have found what God sent me to find." because until He takes me home I will always have more to learn. More to love. More mistakes to make. More to forgive. More to find.<br />
I am now 22 - it has been 4 years since I started this journey in ernest. The journey of adulthood. I am an adult.<br />
<br />
I choose to live in love. I choose to live in forgiveness. I choose to learn when to hold on and when to let go. I choose to laugh and to trust. I choose to be loyal - but not too loyal - not so loyal I can't give up when needed. I choose to smile and dance in the sunshine and rain. I choose to leave myself very little time for sadness and misery and know how to move on from it quickly. I choose to surround myself in love and life and beauty and light. I choose to be a fighter.<br />
<br />
I don't apologize for who I am. I don't change on a whim. I change when God brings me to a turn in my journey. When He decides to send me down a different path.<br />
<br />
Soon I will move out of my parents house. I will step onto an airplane and then off again in another country that will be my new home.<br />
<br />
A new, beautiful, scary, exciting road that I will start on. A new part to my quest - to my journey. New lessons. New mistakes. New successes. New loves. New new new.<br />
<br />
Let's do this.<br />
<br />Amy Irenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14674518839482477471noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7772581399820362798.post-525248311891153912013-07-09T21:49:00.000-07:002013-07-09T21:50:46.141-07:00Jehovah Jireh10 or so years ago I read a book. It was a book that changed my life forever.<br />
<br />
Before that time I honestly don't remember thinking that much about what I wanted to do with my life. Butcher, baker, candlestick maker - whatever. :P<br />
<br />
Then I opened that book and God changed me.<br />
<br />
The book was about a missionary in the 1900's named Lillian Trasher. She was called to Egypt and when she got there, she was handed a baby who was basically dying. So she took it back to the mission base where she was staying. The baby cried and cried and finally the other missionaries told her she had to give the baby away if she wanted to stay there. She knew the Grandmother would throw the baby in the river if she brought it back, so Lillian went for a walk. While she was on that walk she rented a house. Then she moved into it with the baby and her sister. Now the Lillian Trasher Orphanage has 650 widows and orphans who live there.<br />
<br />
I read her story and I just KNEW. I was going to move overseas and do the same thing. If it meant I would be in danger, or near sicknesses, or having to stand in front of someone's gun to protect my kids then so be it, because God would be on my side, and so it would all be ok.<br />
<br />
Another thing about Lillian struck me hard, and still does - she totally relied on God to provide her and her kids needs. And He ALWAYS DID. She always was able to feed the kids and care for them, even when it looked bleakest. (Sounds similar to George Muller, huh? :)).<br />
<br />
And I thought - Wow! I wish God would do that for me!<br />
<br />
But honestly, I never believed it would happen for me - sure God would take care of me, but relying totally on Him - what if He didn't provide???<br />
<br />
I was living a fairly normal (if you can ever call my life normal at any point in time ;)) life, I had a job, went to school, earned money, passed my classes.<br />
<br />
And then it happened.<br />
<br />
God told me to move to Africa and open an organization for kids in a village there.<br />
<br />
I spent 4 days in said village - I bucket bathed in a "shower" with no door (moonlight bathing is the way to go - just sayin ;)), I used a squatty-potty with cave crickets that looked like they were huge spiders that could attack you at any moment and with lizards that drop on you, I "slept" (kinda ;)) in tiny 3-roomed house right near grass roofed huts. I helped a 12-year-old girl get water in huge containers that she carried on her head (that girl is stronger than I probably EVER will be).<br />
<br />
I met grandmother's who had no income and could barely walk caring for 12 kids. I met a 14-year-old girl who had just had a baby a couple hours earlier. I walked through the village and saw the village children come out to stare at me because I am white.<br />
<br />
And as I stood listening to the Grandmother talk and saw as children with little to no hope gather around her to listen (and to stare at me ;)), I KNEW - God wanted me in this place.<br />
<br />
Now I'm going back.<br />
<br />
And guess what - God is providing for our EVERY NEED. I wrote about it before, but financially I have a huge story to tell.<br />
<br />
The village needs a well - right now they have to walk so far for water, and not only will our organization need a well on our land since we will be caring for so many kids, but, like I said, the surrounding villagers need one closer too.<br />
<br />
So we began raising money for this well. It was slow - and a bit discouraging to be honest.<br />
Then we had an amazing offer - someone told us that in the following two weeks (at the time) whatever donations we got they would match up to $2000.<br />
<br />
We freaked out.<br />
TWO WEEKS???<br />
No way we can do that we thought.<br />
<br />
The first week went by and fundraising was slow.<br />
<br />
And then God did something.<br />
<br />
He did something that He did for George Muller and all the kids he cared for.<br />
<br />
He did something that He did for Lillian Trasher and her steps out into an unknown country.<br />
<br />
He provided.<br />
<br />
He showed us that we are NOTHING without Him. He showed us that WE COULD NOT RAISE THAT MONEY.<br />
<br />
But HE could.<br />
<br />
In the last week He provided not only the $2000 to be matched but DOUBLE that! He sent us over $4000. Which meant with the matching donation He provided over $6000.<br />
<br />
Which means -<br />
<br />
THE VILLAGE IS GOING TO HAVE A NEW WELL!!!<br />
<br />
OUR ORGANIZATION IS GOING TO HAVE A WELL!!!!!!!<br />
<br />
I wrote about total trust in my last post.<br />
<br />
I have a long way to go.<br />
<br />
But God will do great things for these people in Africa who He loves in spite of me.<br />
<br />
He will provide for these people and for me and Kris just as He provided for Lillian Trasher and her kids 100 years ago.<br />
<br />
God will do great things because He is able!<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">"The Lord is at hand; do not me anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the Peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." ~ Philippians 4:5b-7</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">Something struck me about this verse tonight - The Lord is at hand - therefore we should not be anxious about anything. </span></span></div>
</div>
<div style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">If there has been one thing God has been teaching me through the whole process of starting Yesu Asobola Ministries it's exactly what is talked about in these verses. SO many times - in fact over and over and over again over the past several month's since beginning this process - I get overwhelmed, anxious, worried, upset, stressed, etc over things and I start to freak out, or feel like throwing in the towel and forgetting all about it. </span></span></div>
</div>
<div style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; min-height: 18px;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">And then I go to God, and I do what this verse says - through prayer and supplication I thank Him and I request His help. I beg Him to show me once again how much HE is in control of all this and how much this is HIS ministry - not mine. Not Kristianna's. Not ours. HIS. </span></span></div>
</div>
<div style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">And then He sends me His peace and whispers to me to watch how He is gonna work it out. Whispers to me to remember He's in control and has a plan - an amazing plan. A plan bigger than anything I could ever imagine. He washes away the overwhelming feelings from me. He washes away my depression, fear, anxiety, and stress and replaces it with peace and trust. Because HERE.</span> </span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Over and over and over again this happens. Of course, you'd think I would learn the first time, but sometimes you can't help feeling overwhelmed. And honestly now I have been getting better at going to Him right away. Because imagine this - He is at hand - He is WITH you. He is WITH me. He's not far away. He's HERE. </span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">It's not that I will never feel overwhelmed or stressed - its that when I DO I know what to do with it. And over and over I see how God works things out in amazing ways I could never have imagined. How He changes people's hearts, sends the funds, sends help, etc. </span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">And that's why I know it's His will we start this ministry. Because I know on our own we can't do it. I know on our own there is NO way. It's too big. A school and orphanage for over 200 kids? Help for an estimated 400 orphaned children in an African village?</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">It's HUGE. I can't do it.</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">In my own strength it is impossible.</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">But with HIM anything is possible.</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">But with HIM EVERYTHING is possible.</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">In HIS strength I can do it. </span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">HE's the one who loves those kids and is going to provide for them - I am simple His hands and feet - I am simple His servant. I am simply His messenger. </span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The Lord is at hand, and is gonna take care of it all - don't fear. Don't be anxious - cast your cares upon HIM for He cares for you! </span></div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqCED2E9QxVrJwWXQZYKOl77Jl4Vi60tGsOokN4kUW5qvpB3S3waZC-8f61Dec9E-bGBrlbS0PEJHSTYYa3pq5b8AOiT0kuAY-GIFJfpXBwOzM4CIagXsJoLHKKUDo0jieI6UEZnrtPrc/s1600/0616131716.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqCED2E9QxVrJwWXQZYKOl77Jl4Vi60tGsOokN4kUW5qvpB3S3waZC-8f61Dec9E-bGBrlbS0PEJHSTYYa3pq5b8AOiT0kuAY-GIFJfpXBwOzM4CIagXsJoLHKKUDo0jieI6UEZnrtPrc/s320/0616131716.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Do you love your life? I sure love mine!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Of course there are days when I don't feel that way - moments when I just want to pull my hair out and say to God, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING????" but somehow He always brings me back to a place where I look around at my life and think, "Wow! How'd I get to be so blessed? I sure love my life and the place that God has me in right now!" Sometimes it's just a feeling that goes with me that I might not stop and notice all the time but it's <i>there.</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There are times, however, where I really just stop and say - "Wow! God is SO good! God sure loves me!" </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Today was one of those days - it was gorgeous outside - warm, sunny, and breezy. I went for a walk in a beautiful park where there was a pond - the pond was the most beautiful shade of blue you have ever seen, with the sun sparkling on it. It was one of those moments where you stop and just say - "Wow. God, You are amazing!!"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Don't forget to "Stop and smell the flowers" sometimes in your life - take the time to make it a life you love. Take the time to do things that remind you of how much God loves you. Take the chances needed to step out and change your life if you don't like it the way it is. Give all that fear to God about the unknown and take a leap of faith.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Start to love your life. </div>

<br />
To a foreign country no less.<br />
<br />
Ever since I was 12-years-old I have dreamed and prayed about doing this, and now my dream is coming true. To say I am excited is a huge understatement. To say I just can't wait to be back and start ministering and showing God's love to the orphans and needy children of the Onyerai village (which will be my home) doesn't even begin to describe it. I can't wait.<br />
<br />
However, there are almost always two sides to ever issue - and this is the other side of mine. The side I don't normally show people. The side I cover up and smile and push aside. However, today I was encouraged to be transparent in this whole process - to show people the hard side to this. To show people what goes on in my heart - the battle between being sooo excited to move out on my own, to pack my bags and move to another country to co-direct a ministry, to become a Mom to kids who don't have one - to teach them about God's love for them, and the side where I leave from visiting a friend and just want to cry because I will miss them so much. Where I go to church and hang out with my church family and someone says they will miss me and I have to pretend it won't hurt as much as it will - that I am strong - because if I show the other side, I might not be able to hold it together. The side where I push the thought aside that I can't go to my Grandparents on Sunday afternoons, or have random movie and ice cream nights with them. The thought I would get to go spend random weekends with one of my best friends any more, or have ice cream dates with another best friend a couple times a week. I won't easily be able to call or text friends and family, or go for walks with my Mom, or be jumped on and written on by the kids at church. I won't be able to have weekly visits with my mentor/best friend/confidante/second mom and her kids.<br />
<br />
God doesn't tell us it will be easy. He tells us that He will be our strength. He doesn't tell us that we won't struggle - He says He will keep us from drowning. He doesn't say that we won't cry - He says He will comfort us wipe our tears.<br />
<br />
He tells us that if we want to follow Him that if He calls us to leave our father and mother and family and friends that that is what we need to do and FOLLOW HIM.<br />
<br />
Follow Him - that's what He wants of me. He wants me to follow Him to a village in Africa where I could end up living for the rest of my life for all I know. He wants me to follow Him when I have nooo idea what I am doing or how to raise kids, or run an organization. He wants me to follow Him to matter what - no matter how hard it is.<br />
<br />
God has given me an amazing life to live. It's hard. Do I love it? Yes. Totally in love with it. Totally excited about what God is going to use me for. Am I scared? Heck yeah. But it's ok - cause I'm following Him.<br />
<br />
"As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And he said to him, "Follow Me." So he arose and followed Him." - Matthew 9:9<br />
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Matthew didn't question. He didn't fear. He simple stood up, and followed Christ. That is what I'm trying to do - Jesus told me to follow Him, and I'm standing up and doing just that. And I will say one thing - it's one exciting journey! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

If I had to condense my 2013 bucket list into just a couple "resolutions" this is what they would be -</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1. Focus on God</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2. Love unconditionally</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3. Embrace and include more art in my life</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
4. Love the healthy end of life</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There - for those who might be interested in a shorter version ;) </div>

Happy New Year all!! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am so happy a new year is finally here!! I love fresh starts - new beginnings. :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So this year I didn't make resolutions - I made a bucket list. I like calling it my 2013 bucket list much better than resolutions - why? Because resolutions are never kept and then you just end up feeling depressed and upset with yourself that you didn't keep them. A bucket list on the other hand is a list of things you want to do or learn and it's something to strive for but if you don't do it or can't do it it's ok. Plus a bucket list sounds so much more fun! ;) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So here it is folks - my 2013 bucket list!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><u>Amy's 2013 Bucket List </u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><u><br /></u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1. Do better devotions and focus more while doing them (I have a problem focusing on things. ;))</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2. Learn how to be a better nanny - I suspect I am going to be doing a lot of nannying this next year and in the next several years and I want to be more kind and gentle with the kids - even when they frustrate me. Learn how to be firm but kind.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3. Run more - I want to work up to be able to do at least 2 miles with very little, if any, walking.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
4. Eat better and go more natural :) Wanna get healthy - sick of junk food. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
5. Work on and learn about loving unconditionally.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
6. Make it through my first semester at Central with grace and cheerfulness. :P</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
7. Beat my laziness - I can't be lazy at this new school - gotta beat it!1!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
8. Journal more - maybe start keeping different kinds of journals - travel, food, devotions, etc :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
9. Go to Newport, RI and go biking again/more - loved it!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
10. Spend more time in Boston and see more things there<br />
11. Embrace the artsy side of life more :) I love many things art so I want to include more art in my life - whatever form that might end up being.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So there you have it folks - what I am going to strive for in 2013!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Happy New Year all!!!!<br />
Leave me a comment with your bucket list or resolutions!! </div>

<iframe allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ew0g1xnOT30" width="420"></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Every time I hear this song I think of God's heart towards people. He is waiting with out stretched arms ready to love each person for who He made them to be. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Love them for them. Not for anything they have done, or would or could do. But just simply love them because He is our great Father.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Wow! Have you ever thought about that before? How God SO loved the world BEFORE while we were STILL sinners so He sent His only Son to die for us. Christ died for us WHILE we were sinners. He didn't wait for us to become "good", He died for us while we were still unlovable.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's they heart I want to have towards people - I want to love them the way Jesus loves them. Not for what they have done or who they will become or what they will do, but because Jesus loves. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The first verse of this song makes me think of children all around the world. Here in America, in Africa, in Mexico, in China, etc etc etc etc. Those children who no one seems to care about. Who might be dirty, naughty, and hard to love. Those who have no family, or families who don't care about them.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And I think - God - Let me love them like You love them. You have given me a big heart and wide open arms, fill them with those unloved children. Fill them with those hurting children. Fill them with those abused children. Fill them with those children who have never known what it is like to be loved unconditionally. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Help me to love them UNCONDITIONALLY. Help me to love them even when they are unlovable. Help me to show them YOUR love. Help me to show them what love really means. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
God is a father to the fatherless. I pray I can show the fatherless that they have a heavenly Father who loves them unconditionally. That I would show them a picture of unconditional love.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I want to be the one who picks them up when they fall down, and who they know if they need a hug or a listening ear or just love love love I am there for them.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I know God has given me this desire for a reason. And I trust Him He will send me the children He wants me to love and to show His love too in His time. Or He will send me to them.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
God will love you for you. Not for what you have done or what you will become. HE will show you what love really means. </div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7u122sWZF69ekOdEP7Nvw3BVwb-ePFJAlIHhAZmOzttw-7r5AASFLf4Sz69mU7KVKfJipHLcqT-d6FUj9lPDVGKr9WwGw5shdwzN5pucVEXjQpsmIYUFxCjEiRak9Jr_nAU0iKIkN3sA/s1600/homework-11.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7u122sWZF69ekOdEP7Nvw3BVwb-ePFJAlIHhAZmOzttw-7r5AASFLf4Sz69mU7KVKfJipHLcqT-d6FUj9lPDVGKr9WwGw5shdwzN5pucVEXjQpsmIYUFxCjEiRak9Jr_nAU0iKIkN3sA/s320/homework-11.gif" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I don't know about you, but it's always a bit sad when the fall weather hits and there is a GORGEOUS Fall day, just calling you to get outside and enjoy it BUT you have a stack of homework that is about ten miles high. So instead you sit inside bent over your books and groaning inside as you look out the window every once in a while at the sunshine.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I know that has been me WAY too many times! So I am here to offer a few ideas for how to get outside AND get your homework done at the same time! :-) If you have any other ideas for creative places to go to work on homework, or efficient methods for getting it done faster, please do leave me a comment!! OR write your own "favorite" homework ideas and post the link to your blog!! :-) (Note - these are not just ideas about getting outside - there are also some other of my own personal ways to get homework organized and finished).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Anyways - My list!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>Find a lake or pond or pretty puddle nearby and take your reading down - sit on the dock or picnic table and get that History reading done as you enjoy the breeze! :-) </li>
<li>Nature preserves - They probably have picnic tables too! Or find a quiet path, lean against a tree, and get that work done! As long as you don't need internet for an assignment you can do it anywhere - save those internet assignments for later! (And I don't want to hear complaining that your bag is to heavy to lug down a beautiful woodsy path! It'll help you build muscles!).</li>
<li>Front steps of the house - the bonus to doing your homework sitting on the front steps of your house is that you can still get wireless internet on your laptop! SCORE! ;-)</li>
<li>Back yard table - we have a table in our backyard used for summertime dinners, but sometimes on beautiful days I will drag all my work outside and just sit and work on projects! The great thing about this is that you don't have to pay for gas to go somewhere - downside is that your family can still find you ;-)</li>
<li>Coffee shops - Panera, Starbucks, some other cute place you know about. Grab yourself a coffee or a tea and get to work! It gets you out of the house but still lets you get your work done. On beautiful days they sometimes have outdoor tables to sit at.</li>
<li>Libraries - if you are sick of your local or college library look for others nearby - I have walked into beautiful libraries where it would be pleasant to to sit and study. If you are down at school check for outdoor tables - my school library has some tables right outside.</li>
<li>Bring a snack and a drink - if you are starving or need a drink you won't be able to pay as good attention to your work! </li>
<li>Make yourself goals - I find that when I set myself a goal I do much better. Today my goal was to get a stack of history reading done - I found a nice shady path at a nature preserve and sat down and read it - I finished all but two pages! (Which I finished later ;-)). Makes you feel good that you spent time in nature AND got that work done. </li>
<li>Lists - I like lists - then I can check them off and feel like I did SOMETHING at least ;-) </li>
<li>Give yourself breaks - even if it's just for five minutes - stretch your legs, pick a daisy, take a deep breath, and then get back to it - you will be able to go for longer and get more done if you take a moment to relax! :-)</li>
<li>Remember WHY you are going to school in the first place! There will be days when you have no good answer for that and where your dreams seem not to matter because you just want to be DONE! But don't give up! It won't last forever! :)</li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Good luck on the start of your new semester! Go knock um dead!!! :)</div>

<br />
Like really really hate it.<br />
<br />
I actually AM an adult and want to be treated like one. Especially if you are my age.<br />
<br />
Really?<br />
<br />
Yes. Amazingly enough NO one wants to be patronized by their peers.<br />
<br />
I may act really dumb, innocent, or child-like sometimes, but in spite of my dumb moments I'm not a baby.<br />
<br />
Whoa really?<br />
<br />
Yes really.<br />
<br />
I may not appear to have an opinion on a subject, but I actually do.<br />
<br />
I actually have informed logical opinions on many issues.<br />
<br />
But I won't tell you, because I hate debating.<br />
<br />
But no, I'm not a child.Amy Irenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14674518839482477471noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7772581399820362798.post-44165139720704936252012-05-05T09:23:00.002-07:002012-05-05T09:26:00.604-07:00Owl City<br />
I wish I could cross my arms<br />
And cross your mind 'cause I believe<br />
You'd unfold your paper heart<br />
And wear it on your sleeve<br />
<br />
All my life I wish I broke mirrors<br />
Instead of promises<br />
'Cause all I see is a shattered conscience<br />
Staring right back at me<br />
<br />
I wish I had covered all my tracks completely<br />
'Cause I'm so afraid<br />
Is that the light at the far end of the tunnel<br />
Or just the train?<br />
<br />
Lift your arms, only Heaven knows<br />
Where the danger grows and it's safe to say<br />
There's a bright light up ahead<br />
And help is on the way, help is on the way<br />
<br />
I forget the last time I felt brave<br />
I just recall insecurity<br />
'Cause it came down like a tidal wave<br />
And sorrow swept over me<br />
<br />
Depression, please cut to the chase<br />
And cut a long story short<br />
Oh, please be done, how much longer<br />
Can this drama afford to run?<br />
<br />
Fate looks sharp, severs all my ties<br />
And breaks whatever doesn't bend<br />
But sadly then, all my heavy hopes<br />
Just pull me back down again<br />
<br />
I forget the last time I felt brave<br />
I just recall insecurity<br />
'Cause it came down like a tidal wave<br />
And sorrow swept over me<br />
<br />
Then I was given grace and love<br />
I was blind but now I can see<br />
'Cause I found a new hope from above<br />
And courage swept over me<br />
<br />
It hurts just to wake up<br />
Whenever you're wearing thin<br />
Alone on the outside<br />
So tired of looking in<br />
<br />
The end is uncertain<br />
And I've never been so afraid<br />
But I don't need a telescope<br />
To see that there's hope<br />
And that makes me feel brave<br />
<div>
<br /></div>Amy Irenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14674518839482477471noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7772581399820362798.post-44849157237311319042012-04-23T22:08:00.003-07:002012-04-23T22:08:24.877-07:00The Ache Will Last Forever...Do you have anything or any person that you think about every single day? Something/one that you miss so much that your heart aches and you wonder how in the world you will get through that day... That week... That month... That year... Those many years till you have that person back in your arms?<br />
<br />
I do.<br />
<br />
I think about "my" kids in Uganda every single day. I ACHE to hold them again. I ACHE to hear their little voices call me "Auntie Ammmy" again. I ACHE to have susu (pee) all over my clothes again. I ACHE to change a billion and one diapers again. I ACHE to hear "my" Mama's call me "Daughter" again. I ACHE to have sweet baby kisses planted on my cheek. I ACHE to spoil them with chocolate cake and soda. I ACHE know "my" kids are safe because I can see them - I ACHE to be able to see them every single day, and boast about how proud I am of them<br />
<br />
Are they my kids? Not really - they are God's kids. They will always have a HUGE special spot in my heart. Even if I never get to see them again in this life, every time I see their pictures or think of their names I will miss them, and love them.<br />
<br />
Even so I ache. Each time a little kid pushes me away because they have a loving family (which makes me so happy for that child) it makes me long to hold those kids who don't have a family, because they need the love and the touch and they need to know that I love them - oh so very much. Each hurting child, each lonely child, each child without a family, each neglected child, each starving child, each of them get a special place in my heart, and no matter how many I meet in my life, I know there will always be enough room for each of them to have a special place in my heart - because God made it big on purpose.<br />
<br />
Some kids I miss especially - My girl Jemima - how she made me earn her trust - I had to work hard for it, but it was so rewarding in the end. Her parting words to me. Her sassy times, and the times she needed someone to stick by her when she was in a bad mood. The pain that I had to leave her, when she told me to stay. Knowing that I may never see her again in this life.<br />
My boy Ashraf - his silly faces, him trying to talk to me in his language, his craziness.<br />
Simon - His chubby cheeks and fat legs. His amazing smile, and huggableness.<br />
Jacob - How I love that kid!<br />
My list could keep going... And going... And going...<br />
<br />
Appreciate every moment you have with your kids, or other little ones God has put in your life. Let the little things slide - in the end what matters?<br />
<br />
Oh God, take care of each of the kids - and give them people to love them - even if I desperately want it to be me. She is just like any other highschool girl, until she decides to apply for an internship at a big fashion company in the city, but they get her confused with someone else and she gets a real job there!! The show is about her scraps she gets herself into, and about her best friend Billy (AHHH!!!! Love him!!!) helping her out of them, and her awesome bro and his fun moments!!! So adorable!!!</div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><br /></div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; ">So since I love lists, here are some things I love about JBD :oD</div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><br /></div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; ">Reasons why I love the show so much -</div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><br /></div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; ">~ It's cute, generally clean, and fun - One of the big reasons I love this show is that it is fairly clean compared to other shows on these days. There are kissing scenes, and one of THOSE scenes that they totally could have left out, but GENERALLY there are cute romances, a bit of drama, but not tooo much to make it stressful to watch.</div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><br /></div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; ">~ Such cute fashion!!!! Yes Jane get's into scraps, but overall it's not too drama filled.</div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><br /></div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; ">~ Cute AND nice boys *Wink Wink* ;-) Seriously though - such nice guys on the show - I hate it when shows have all the guys be jerks or whatever. But especially Billy and Ben are awesome!!</div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><br /></div><div><span ><span style="font-size: 100%;">~ Good </span>dialogue/writing<span style="font-size: 100%;"> - seriously good lines, good moments, and just all around fun!</span></span></div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><br /></div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; ">Characters I love (in no particular order) - </div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><br /></div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; ">~ Jane - The main character is quirky and fun - her fashion is amazing, she is fun and cute. Yes she can be a brat sometimes, lies to her brother once in a while, gets mad at her best friend once in a while, and has enemies, but it's always good when the main person has some faults - makes them more real. Jane may not be a hero, but she's real, blunt, and an all around neat person.</div><div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><br /></div><div><span ><span style="font-size: 100%;">~ Ben - Jane's terribly cute older bro! (Ok, yes, I have a crush on him - you found out ;-)). Ben is such a good big bro. He gave up his dreams and goals in life to come and take care of his younger sister, which isn't always an easy job! He's quirky and fun like his sister, has the most adorable smile, and is a bit of a dork. :-P He can be super awkward, and sometimes has conversations that make no sense to the person who he is talking too. He hates camping, and even hates Smores! He has a weird sense of humor, and has a crush on Rita, the school counselor who sits in the office </span>adjoining<span style="font-size: 100%;"> his. He loves to pop in on her and try to "win her over." They are a perfect match.</span></span></div><div><span ><span style="font-size: 100%;"><br /></span></span></div><div><span ><span style="font-size: 100%;">~ Rita - Ben's super cute crush! When you first see her Rita Shaw comes across as a very serious girl with a dry sense of humor. Although she's secretly had a crush on Ben since high-school she doesn't let him know she likes him for a while. She's a gal who makes a guy work to win her over, but she's terribly worth the effort. She pretends Ben is bugging her, but as soon as he leaves the room a cute smile will pass over her face. Ben and Rita are the cutest couple ever. Just sayin...</span></span></div><div><span ><span style="font-size: 100%;"><br /></span></span></div><div><span >~ Billy - Jane's best friend since almost forever. Besides also being really cute (can I crush on both him AND Ben??? ;-)), Billy has an amazing personality. He is easy-going, fun to be around, always there for his best friends (even if it means getting detention because of it), and always ready to help Jane out of scraps. Billy gets frustrated once in a while, but generally is an all around nice guy. His brother is a trouble-maker, and Billy is working hard not to fall into the same life-style. Although Billy dated one of Jane's enemies for a little while, I totally ship him and Jane together. The end of the last eppie?? AHHH!!! How could they leave us like that??? Yes Billy is on the top of the list of my favorite characters!! </span></div><div><span ><br /></span></div><div><span >~ Jeremy - One of Jane's co-workers. A good looking, blond, British designer, who annoys most of the ladies with his charms, but is a pretty nice guy. I reallly hope him and India get together! Turns out he's a bit of a bad boy though as seen in the last episode of the first season! I was soo shocked!! But I still love him lol</span></div><div><span ><br /></span></div><div><span >~ India - Another co-worker of Jane's. India is tough, and is a bit of an enemy to Jane. She is viewed as a bad guy throughout the season, but you find out she's not as bad as you first think. She's got a good side to her, just buried kind of deep and hard to see sometimes. I hope they bring her back in the 2nd season - the show wouldn't be the same without her!</span></div><div><span ><br /></span></div><div><span >~ Carter - A co-worker/designer at the place Jane works. He's just awesome, friendly, and fun. I wish he had a bigger part in the show!!</span></div><div><span ><br /></span></div><div><span ><br /></span></div><div><span >~~~~ </span></div><div><span >Soo I'm sure I could think up more things to write about this show, but I hope you enjoyed reading what I wrote! Thought it was time for a fun post! LOL! And what's more fun then writing about your current fav show??? </span></div><div><span ><br /></span></div><div><span >I CAN'T WAIT TILL JUNE FOR SEASON TWO!!!</span></div><div><span ><br /></span></div><div><span >Ok...
